Alex Rodriguez isn’t headed to the Hall of Fame but he was happy to congratulate those that were.
The former Yankees infielder congratulated the three members of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame class that were announced on Tuesday evening.
CC Sabathia, Ichiro Suzuki and Billy Wagner will be enshrined in Cooperstown after receiving the necessary votes from Baseball Writers Association of America voters.
“Congratulations to Ichiro Suzuki on being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame! Without a doubt one of the greatest pure hitters I’ve ever seen,” Rodriguez wrote on X about Suzuki.
The pair had played together in the Bronx for part of the 2012 season and the 2013 season.
Rodriguez also had plenty of kind words for Sabathia, who he praised as a teammate and a key part of the Yankees’ 2009 World Series championship.
“@CC_Sabathia is one of the best teammates ever!” he wrote. “We became a championship team when he joined our roster in 2009. Congratulations on being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame big guy! Well deserved.”
He also had a message for Wagner calling him “one of the best closers in the game.”
Rodriguez also expressed excitement about seeing Andruw Jones and Carlos Beltran getting voted into the hall next year.
Beltran received 70.3 percent of the vote this year just missing out on being part of the class of 2025.
Rodriguez has been on the ballot as well, but received just 37.1 percent of the vote and isn’t expected to make it in any time soon.
The baseball great’s career has been marred by admitted steroid use and a PED-related suspension that cost him the entire 2014 season, which likely contributed to him receiving 34 percent of the vote last year.
Rodriguez is a 14-time All-Star and three-time AL MVP during his career, which also saw him record 3,115 hits and a career .295 batting average.
