From Deivon Smith to RJ Luis Jr. and now Kadary Richmond, the injury bug has been going around the St. John’s roster for a few weeks.

While Richmond played well in Sunday’s commanding 89-75 victory over Connecticut at a sold-out Garden, coach Rick Pitino expressed concern over his star guard’s health problems.

“I don’t know what the hell they were yelling about at Seton Hall about general soreness,” Pitino said following the 10th-ranked Johnnies’ win. “Kadary Richmond is more injured than any player I’ve coached right now, and he fights through it. … He has problems all over his anatomy, and he played the game and played hard. He killed it and he needs time off, as much as we can give him right now because he’s really hurting.”

Richmond has matching groin pulls — Pitino had said he was dealing with one after the win over DePaul on Wednesday — but it didn’t seem to bother him against Connecticut.

He had 18 points, four assists, two blocks and two steals in 25 minutes, continuing his impressive play.

The Seton Hall transfer also had the game’s two biggest baskets, back-to-back midrange jump shots after the Huskies had trimmed a 22-point St. John’s lead to nine with 12:25 left.

Pitino was noncommittal about Richmond’s status for Wednesday’s game at Butler.

He plans to at least rest him during practices leading up to the contest.

“I am concerned about Kadary right now,” he said. “We may have to sit him out and just give him a lot of rest to prepare for the postseason. If necessary, we’re going to do that.”

Luis, St. John’s leading scorer, returned after missing Wednesday’s win over DePaul with a groin pull. He scored 14 points and added five rebounds, but shot only 4-for-18 from the field.

“He’s a key guy,” Smith said. “I don’t think we would have been as successful [today] without him playing. So to have him back was special.”

St. John’s hosted Archbishop Stepinac junior guard Jasiah Jervis, a four-star recruit, for the game. … Stephon Marbury and Spike Lee were among the celebrities in attendance. … With 15 league wins, the Johnnies have matched the 1984-85 team for the most in program history. They have also won 19 straight regular-season home games.
