Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski defended Taylor Swift after a harsh review of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. The New York Times criticized the album, saying Swift “could use an editor” and calling it “self-indulgent” with “diminishing returns” for listeners. Porowski responded with a lighthearted comment on Instagram, hinting at the backlash the reviewer may face from Swift’s loyal fanbase, known as Swifties.

Porowski, a fan of the album, shared his favorite tracks on Instagram Stories and is friends with Swift through their mutual pal Gigi Hadid. They first met when Porowski auditioned for Swift’s “Blank Space” music video in 2014. Although he didn’t get the role, Porowski later appeared in the music video for “You Need to Calm Down” along with the rest of the Queer Eye cast. The two have been seen together at various social events, showing a close friendship.

Porowski has publicly supported Swift’s relationship with NFL tight end Travis Kelce and expressed his happiness for her during an interview with People in November 2023. He described Swift as an “incredible, formidable woman” and wished the couple continued happiness and enjoyment of their moments together. Porowski and Swift have been seen together at events like Madonna’s Madame X Tour and attending Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs game in October 2023.

The Queer Eye star has been vocal and supportive of Swift, both personally and professionally. He has praised her talent, work ethic, and relationship with Kelce, emphasizing his admiration for her success and happiness. Porowski’s defense of Swift’s album shows his loyalty and commitment to standing by her side despite any criticism she may face in the media. Their friendship has continued to strengthen, with Porowski consistently showing his support for Swift in various aspects of her life.
