Marvel Studios has announced the cast for its upcoming superhero team movie, The Fantastic Four. Set for release in 2025, the film will star Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/the Thing. Ralph Ineson has been tapped to play Galactus, the main antagonist of the film.

The movie marks the third big screen adaptation of the comic book series. Chris Evans, who later starred as Captain America in the MCU, previously played Johnny Storm in the 2005 and 2007 films alongside Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, and Michael Chiklis. The heroes were rebooted in 2015 with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell taking on the iconic roles.

Marvel announced the casting of The Fantastic Four in February 2024 with a 1960s-inspired poster paying homage to the characters’ origins. The film is set to premiere on July 25, 2025, two months after Marvel’s Thunderbolts release. The cast also includes Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal, an incarnation of the Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus. Director Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, will be directing the film.

Plot details of The Fantastic Four are being kept under wraps, but the February 2024 poster hints at how the heroes’ origins might be incorporated into the movie. The film will be the first big screen adaptation of the Fantastic Four to be set in the MCU, following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox. The characters have previously been featured in the MCU, with John Krasinski making a cameo as Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The movie’s cast and crew have expressed excitement over being part of the project, with Pedro Pascal sharing his enthusiasm for working with the talented team. The group chat for the cast was launched by Pascal. The addition of Julia Garner and Ralph Ineson to the cast further adds to the anticipation surrounding the film. With a strong cast, talented director, and connections to the MCU, The Fantastic Four is shaping up to be a highly anticipated addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
