The same vehicle was also connected to a jewelry heist in Hillsborough County on March 9, leading to Garcia being charged with masked burglary of an unoccupied structure, first degree grand theft, and unlawful use of a communications device.
Despite Garcia’s arrest, the second suspect involved in the robbery has not been apprehended. He was seen fleeing the scene in a truck carrying the stolen bags in rolling garbage cans. The Miami Beach Police Department reported that their investigation into the theft is ongoing, and no further information about the second suspect has been released as of yet. The stolen Hermès bags, particularly the Birkin design, are highly sought after luxury items that can range in price from $10,000 to $450,000.
