Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently returned to the U.S. after a trip to Nigeria and celebrated with a dinner outing with friends at Lucky’s steakhouse in Montecito, California. The couple, joined by their friends Brian and Tracy Robbins, marked their sixth wedding anniversary the following day. Harry and Meghan had wed on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, with Meghan wearing a stunning white gown by Givenchy and Harry in his military garb. The pair had previously spent time with Brian and Tracy at the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica earlier in the year.

After their return from Nigeria, where they visited the Lightway Academy in Abuja to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Harry’s Invictus Games, Meghan shared a heartwarming story about their daughter Princess Lilibet during the visit. She described Lili as “much, much tinier” and told students about how her daughter had said, “Mama, I see me in you.” Meghan also spoke at a women in leadership panel during their trip, jokingly describing her kids as “very chatty [and] sweet”. The couple’s son Prince Archie also joined them on the trip.

During their time in Africa, Meghan wore one of Princess Diana’s necklaces, a diamond cross, which was a gift from Harry. The couple also attended a reception for military families during the trip. However, they faced a potential controversy as the California Attorney General declared their Archewell Foundation as “delinquent” for not paying registration fees since the beginning of May. The foundation is prohibited from engaging in certain activities, including soliciting charitable funds, unless it resolves the issue.

Despite the controversy, a spokesperson for the Archewell Foundation confirmed that the necessary payments had been made promptly and in accordance with IRS procedures, and all paperwork had been filed without error or wrongdoing. The foundation sent a physical check for the fees, but it was not received, prompting a new check to be sent. The couple’s foundation, which focuses on charitable work and activism, remains fully compliant and in good standing. The issue was resolved quickly, ensuring that the foundation can continue its operations without interruption.

Overall, Harry and Meghan’s return to the U.S. after their trip to Nigeria was marked by celebrations with friends and attention to their foundation’s compliance matters. The couple continues to be active in their philanthropic efforts and public appearances, while also enjoying time with their children. Despite occasional challenges and controversies, they remain committed to their work and causes, using their platform to make a positive impact in the world.
