Prince Harry will not be attending the wedding of his friend and son Archie’s godfather, Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, next month in order to avoid any royal tension with his brother, Prince William. William, on the other hand, is set to be an usher at the ceremony, which will take place at Chester Cathedral in Chester, England, with around 400 guests expected to attend. Grosvenor, who is considered one of the richest men in the U.K., is the godfather to both Archie and Prince George, William’s eldest son, while his own godfather is King Charles III.

The British monarch, King Charles III, is also not expected to attend the wedding as he continues to undergo cancer treatment. Additionally, Queen Camilla and Charles are scheduled to attend an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France, on June 6, which is the day before the wedding. William’s wife, Kate Middleton, is also unlikely to attend the wedding as she is undergoing her own cancer treatment. William recently mentioned during a royal engagement that Kate is doing well and gave an update on her condition at St. Mary’s Community Hospital on the Isles of Scilly.

The heir to the throne, Prince William, joked during the engagement that his children are jealous that he is there and hinted that they might visit later in the year. Kate Middleton confirmed her cancer diagnosis in March after doctors found cancerous tissue in her body during an abdominal surgery in January. She explained that she is undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy and is in the early stages of treatment. Kate expressed her gratitude for the support and kindness shown by many and mentioned that having William by her side is a great source of comfort and reassurance.

The lack of attendance by Prince Harry, Prince William, and their immediate family members at the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor reflects the ongoing health issues facing the British royal family. With King Charles III and Queen Camilla focusing on his cancer treatment and commemorating the D-Day landings, Prince William and Kate Middleton dealing with Kate’s cancer treatment, the royal family is prioritizing their health and well-being over social events. The absence of key members at the wedding shows a dedication to handling their health issues with care and prioritizing their recoveries. Despite the absence of the royals, the wedding of Grosvenor and Olivia Henson is expected to be a grand affair with many guests celebrating their special day. The decisions made by the royal family members reflect their commitment to health and family, even amidst significant events in their social calendars.
