Fox News Media has invited the Trump campaign and the Biden campaign to participate in a vice presidential debate before the 2024 election. The proposed debate would be hosted by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and could take place on July 23, August 13, or after both nomination conventions. The campaigns are also considering Virginia State University as a possible location for the debate. While there were no Democratic debates on Fox News in 2016 and 2020, the network did host town halls with Democratic candidates. Former President Trump has accepted the invitation, urging Vice President Kamala Harris to agree as well.

The Biden campaign has accepted CBS News’ vice presidential debate invitation for this summer, with Vice President Kamala Harris set to face off against the Republican VP nominee. They have asked for the debate to occur in a TV studio with strict rules such as automatic microphone cut-offs when time elapses. The campaign also wants no participation from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. or other independent candidates. Trump and Biden have both agreed to debate dates in June and September, with Trump stating that he is ready for a debate, anytime and anywhere. Biden challenged Trump to pick dates, stating that he is ready to face him in two debates.

Trump has expressed willingness to debate Biden, highlighting issues such as the Open Border Policy, EV Mandates, Inflation, Taxes, and Foreign Policy. He has recommended more than two debates and a large venue for excitement, despite Biden’s reported fear of crowds. Thousands attended Trump’s recent campaign event on the Jersey Shore in New Jersey. The Trump campaign has been actively engaging with offers from various media organizations to debate Biden, with the former president expressing readiness to debate his opponent on multiple occasions.

The Biden-Harris campaign has shown eagerness to participate in upcoming debates, with Harris poised to go head-to-head with the Republican VP nominee. They have set specific conditions for the debates, such as the location being a TV studio and restrictions on audience participation. Biden responded to Trump’s challenge by accepting an invitation from CNN for a debate on June 27, and is awaiting Trump’s decision to proceed with the arrangement. Both candidates have expressed readiness to face each other in debates, setting the stage for a series of confrontations leading up to the 2024 election.

As the debate schedules are being discussed and finalized, both Trump and Biden are gearing up to engage in verbal sparring on the national stage. Trump has highlighted Biden’s shortcomings as a debater, while Biden has expressed confidence in taking on his opponent. Both candidates have agreed to specific conditions for the debates, including dates, locations, and formats. With the possibility of multiple debates before the 2024 election, the American public can expect intense and heated exchanges between the two presidential contenders as they vie for the White House. The upcoming debates will provide an opportunity for voters to assess the candidates’ positions, policies, and ability to articulate their visions for the country.
