Bungie recently held a “reward stream” for Destiny 2: Into the Light, revealing the weapons and rewards players can expect to earn in the upcoming content. The weapons showcased include a mix of raid weapons, pinnacles, world drops, and other unique options. Interestingly, players will not need to own a specific expansion with a raid to acquire the raid weapons being brought back.
Some of the weapons featured in the stream include popular choices like Mountaintop, Recluse, Luna’s Howl, and Falling Guillotine. Additionally, there will be armor sets for each class inspired by early Destiny 2. A standout reward is the Superblack Shader, which can be unlocked through a mini quest. This shader is a permanent feature, not a one-time-use ornament, and was displayed on armor during the stream.
The weapons showcased in the stream come with unique Origin Traits that provide various benefits depending on the subclass being used. They also include Limited Edition versions that can drop randomly with enhanced perks, as well as a new perk called Last Stand that offers bonuses for kills. Players can attune in the new Hall of Champions to increase their chances of receiving favored drops for specific weapons.
Many of the weapons featured in the stream appear to be strong based on the perks demonstrated, potentially leading to power creep in the game. Some weapons feature strong combinations of perks, such as Hammerhead with both Rampage and Killing Tally. While weapons like Recluse and Luna’s Howl retain their pinnacle perks, they are not quite as powerful as before. The Final Shape expansion will also introduce 100 new vault slots to accommodate the influx of new weapons.
There is speculation about the potential inclusion of a classic D1 exotic as a hidden feature in the content, although Bungie has not confirmed anything yet. During the stream, it was mentioned that a new exotic mission will be part of the Into the Light content, hinting at exciting additions for players to discover. Fans can look forward to more information in the upcoming livestream as the developers continue to reveal new content and features for Destiny 2.
