Oliver Hudson recently discussed his struggles with anxiety and the debilitating withdrawals he experienced while trying to wean himself off anxiety medication. He shared his experience on the “Sibling Revelry” podcast with Drew Linsalata, detailing a terrifying withdrawal from an antidepressant used to treat anxiety that occurred while he was away from his kids filming a show called Nashville. Oliver described experiencing a panic attack and feeling completely dissociated during this time.

The actor explained that his strong desire to provide for his family helped him get through the ordeal, even though he found it difficult to leave his room. Despite his struggles, he felt the need to support his family and eventually had to go back on medication. He credited his current well-being to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), saying that it was life-changing for him. Oliver married actress Erinn Bartlett in 2006 and they share three children together.

Oliver Hudson’s withdrawal experiences from anxiety medication and antidepressants have been previously discussed by the actor. In a video shared in February 2022, he revealed that he had stopped taking Lexapro after being on the medication for five and a half years. He described the experience as crushing, debilitating, and scary, but also acknowledged that in that moment he was feeling good, although it could be fleeting and shift suddenly.

In the video, Oliver mentioned the importance of seeking help if you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis. He encouraged viewers to call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org for support. Despite his challenges with anxiety and medication withdrawal, Oliver has been open about his experiences in order to raise awareness and help others who may be going through similar struggles. Through therapy and support, he has been able to navigate his mental health journey and find moments of normalcy.
