An illegal Mexican immigrant, who has been deported at least eight times, faces murder charges after a man’s body was found in Ohio. Fermin Garcia-Gutierrez is being held on charges including aggravated murder, using weapons while intoxicated, carrying concealed weapons, possession of drugs, and obstructing official business. He has been arrested nearly a dozen times since his first arrest in 2001 under various names and birthdates. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Garcia-Gutierrez has been charged with over 20 crimes and is a gang member.

Authorities found the victim’s body in Hamilton just north of Cincinnati after receiving a 911 call. Garcia-Gutierrez has a history of weapons charges, domestic violence charges, and driving while intoxicated in the United States, and it is unclear how many people he may have killed in Mexico. Sheriff Richard Jones emphasized the impact of illegal immigration on communities, stating that nearly 1,000 illegal aliens have faced state charges in their jail since July 2021. He blamed the broken border for allowing dangerous individuals like Garcia-Gutierrez to enter the country.

Jones criticized the current state of the border, blaming President Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for failing to address the issue. He highlighted the influence of drug cartels in Mexico and the inaction of government officials in curbing illegal immigration. Jones called for stronger border security measures to prevent crimes like those committed by Garcia-Gutierrez and protect innocent people from being harmed.

Garcia-Gutierrez, who has been deported multiple times and has a criminal record in both Mexico and the United States, is being held on an ICE detainer pending further legal proceedings. The sheriff highlighted the alarming number of crimes committed by individuals who have entered the country illegally and called for stricter enforcement of immigration laws. Jones stressed the need to take action in securing the border to prevent further tragedies like the murder allegedly committed by Garcia-Gutierrez.

The sheriff raised concerns about the impact of illegal immigration on communities and highlighted the dangers posed by individuals with criminal histories who continue to enter the country unlawfully. Garcia-Gutierrez’s case underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in dealing with repeat offenders and the need for comprehensive immigration reform. Jones called for a stronger response to address the root causes of illegal immigration and prevent violent crimes like the one attributed to Garcia-Gutierrez from occurring in the future.
