A couple were arrested at Miami International Airport for allegedly attacking airline staff — with one even throwing coffee in a worker’s face — while trying to force their way onto a flight to Mexico.

Rafael Seirafe-Novaes and Beatriz Rapoport De Campos Maia were running late for their flight to Cancun on Sunday when they got into a heated altercation with airport staff, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office told NBC Miami.

During the fray, one of the suspects threw a coffee in the face of an American Airlines employee, according to officials.

Video of the incident obtained by NBC shows several cop cars responding to the tarmac next to American Flight 2494 just before takeoff.

About six Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputies responded to the fight, according to the outlet.

Seirafe-Novaes was charged with resisting an officer without violence and trespassing, while Maia was charged with two counts of battery and trespassing.

American Airlines told CBS News Miami: “Acts of violence are not tolerated by American Airlines and we are committed to working closely with law enforcement in their investigation.”

An airport spokesperson told NBC that the sheriff’s office is handling the investigation.
