This dramatic evacuation came not long after Kim, 42, faced backlash for posting about her shapewear brand, SKIMS, as Los Angeles was burning. On Wednesday, January 8, the mogul promoted the company’s “Winter Sale” on Instagram. “THE WINTER SALE STARTS TOMORROW. Set your alarm to shop the first major event of the year with up to 50% off your favorite SKIMS collections,” read her Instagram post, which many followers categorized as “tone deaf,” given the severity of the fires. Kim ultimately took the post down.Despite the backlash toward Kim’s post, the well-known Los Angeles family has reportedly been making significant donations to the fire relief effort. In addition to monetary donations to a variety of relief organizations, they apparently funded meals from Hollywood restaurant Carousel to be delivered to firefighters. Khloé, 40, has been praised for sharing resources on her Instagram story.
