Imran H. Ansari, the lawyer for the 72-year-old former film producer, has reported to TMZ that Weinstein had to be taken to the hospital because of “alarming,” test results. He confirmed that the disgraced mogul, who has leukemia, will remain at the hospital and receive emergent treatment until his condition stabilizes. He also said, however, that Weinstein’s condition is considered “treatable.”Ansari accused the employees of Rikers’ Island prison of mistreating Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault, although the results of one of the cases was overturned in April. “His deprivation of care is not only medical malpractice, but a violation of his constitutional rights,” said the attorney.
