The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newcomer Bronwyn Newport is not concerned with what anyone else thinks of her marriage to husband Todd Bradley.
“I don’t think Todd really cares what it looks like to anybody else,” Bronwyn, 39, exclusively told Us Weekly on Monday, November 18, while discussing RHOSLC season 5. “That’s a good reminder for me that I’m very happy with Todd and everyone else can see that or not see that, or wish they were me or not wish they were me. They should wish they were me — I’m in a great marriage, I love my relationship and I’m really happy.”
She added, “Todd and I are very different people and together it’s kind of a super team. We have different skill sets, we have different weaknesses, and they balance each other out, and it’s a good partnership.”
Bronwyn and Todd, 65, put their relationship front-and-center during RHOSLC season 5, their first on the Bravo hit. Though it may appear otherwise, Bronwyn asserts that her spouse doesn’t regret joining her on the show.

“Todd’s not deeply involved in the social media of it all and Todd is really good about what it feels like to him,” Bronwyn told Us, referring to a tense moment between Todd and their costars during a trip to Palm Springs. “It felt right to him to say, ‘This conversation has to stop.’ Our marriage feels really good to him.”

Several of Bronwyn’s fellow Housewives also made comments about the status of her marriage and branded her a “gold-digger,” a diss Bronwyn described as “low-hanging fruit given her and Todd’s 26-year age difference.
“I don’t want to shade anyone else’s marriage because I don’t like them shading mine, but I am interested in Britani [Bateman], Heather [Gay] and Meredith [Marks] of all people talking about someone else’s marriage,” Bronwyn told Us. “We got two who are not, have not been, have been divorced, have struggled and one who’s had some ups and downs. We should tend to our own grass before we worry about what Bronwyn’s grass looks like.”
As a couple, she and Todd did not set any boundaries in advance of filming, but Bronwyn’s experience as a mom became a powerful story line. (She welcomed daughter Gwen as a teenager.)
“The whole story with my daughter was not a planned thing I wanted to discuss. My daughter is turning 18, she’s moving out [and] my husband still really works quite a bit,” she said on Monday. “I really thought I was going on the show to talk about what a second evolution of my life was going to look like. I was working on a lot of fun projects at the time, but that’s really what I planned on sharing and kind of exploring on camera.”

Instead, multiple questions arose about Gwen’s history with her biological father and his family.

“When this came up with my daughter, it was a natural fit for us to follow that story, of course, and be honest about what was happening in our lives at the time,” Bronwyn explained. “But we had not planned on that. I didn’t have a ton of boundaries and I think you see that I’m trying to navigate becoming friends with these women, and that does mean sharing and being vulnerable, while my husband is like, ‘No, some of this is too far and we’re not going to talk about it in a group of people who you were just arguing within the hot tub a couple hours ago, maybe this is not a safe space yet.’”
When the midseason trailer debuted earlier this month, Bravo fans saw Bronwyn reveal that she and Todd had been through some “real s—.”
“I share with the ladies some very tricky things. There are things that I felt like they needed to understand about me,” she teased of the upcoming episodes. “There’s a lot of conversation about my marriage and about my husband and how he and I relate to each other. All along I felt like so much of it was not true what was being said. I finally just had this emotional vomit of, ‘If we’re going to talk about my marriage, let’s actually talk about my marriage and let’s get to know each other and I will be vulnerable with you.’”

Bronwyn added, “That’s something I’ve really learned about myself; it took me a long time to open up to the ladies. I had a lot of feelings about them while I was not sharing very much. That’s maybe not a fair give-and-take in a friendship.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
