The New York Times Connections puzzle is a challenging word game where players must group 16 words into four groups that are somehow connected. The game editor knows how to trick players with words that can fit into multiple groups. The Times now has a Connections Bot that can analyze your answers and provide a numeric score. Registered players can track their progress, including the number of puzzles completed, win rate, perfect scores, and win streaks.

To play Connections, players must mentally assign the 16 words into related groups of four and click on the words they think go together. The groups are color-coded, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the toughest. Sometimes the connection between words is related to just a part of the word, such as words that start with the name of a rock band. The challenge lies in finding the common thread that connects the words in each group.

One of the new features in the Connections world is a game for sports fans that allows players to swing for the fences. Today’s hints for the Connections groups include clues for the yellow, green, blue, and purple groups. The yellow group relates to words that are sassy, the green group relates to words that describe ambience, the blue group relates to units of measurement, and the purple group relates to words that complete the phrase “The Little ____.”

In today’s Connections puzzle, the answers for the yellow group are cute, fresh, smart, and wise, all related to the theme of being sassy. The green group includes words like air, mood, feeling, and quality, representing the theme of ambience. The blue group consists of bar, bel, lux, and mole, which are units of measurement. The purple group features Mermaid, Prince, Rascals, and Tramp, completing the phrase “The Little ____.” Players can use these hints to strategize and solve the puzzle successfully.
