Air Canada pilots ratified a new collective agreement with the airline, which was approved by 67 per cent of members who voted. The agreement ensures that pilots will have a contract until 2027 with significant pay increases and improvements to their quality of life. The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) stated that this new contract is the largest labour agreement in Air Canada’s history and reflects the contributions that pilots bring to the airline’s success. ALPA estimates that this new contract will generate an additional $1.9 billion in value for Air Canada pilots over four years. Air Canada expressed its satisfaction with the ratification, with President and CEO Michael Rousseau stating that the agreement will keep their pilots the best compensated in Canada and provide the work-life balance improvements they were seeking.
