After the spooky season is over, some Spirit Halloween stores will be converted into Spirit Christmas stores, with a total of 10 locations set to open primarily in the US Northeast. These Christmas stores will offer winter holiday-themed items including gifts, decorations, and inflatables. In addition, there will be a “life-sized” gingerbread village and the opportunity to take a picture with Santa at these locations, which are expected to open in November.

The goal of the Spirit Christmas stores is to create a festive retail experience that captures the spirit of the holiday season, similar to what Spirit Halloween does for Halloween. The chain will be a mix of converted Spirit Halloween stores and new locations, with a flagship store in May’s Landing, New Jersey opening on October 18 and the others opening a few weeks later. This move comes after Spirit Halloween opened a record 1,525 stores in the United States and Canada this year.

Although Spirit Halloween does not release sales figures, Halloween is a big business in the US, with $11.6 billion forecasted to be spent on costumes, decorations, and other items this year according to the National Retail Federation. The winter holidays are an even bigger business for Spirit Halloween to tap into, as spending across the country grew almost 4% to a record $964 billion last year, as reported by the NRF. This presents an opportunity for the chain to capitalize on the holiday shopping season.

The decision to convert some Spirit Halloween stores into Spirit Christmas stores could help the retailer extend its presence in the market beyond the Halloween season. By offering a variety of winter holiday-themed products and experiences, the chain aims to attract shoppers looking to get into the spirit of the holidays. This move also allows Spirit Halloween to make use of its existing locations and infrastructure to generate additional revenue during the busy holiday shopping season.

The opening of Spirit Christmas stores represents a strategic move by the retailer to leverage its success during the Halloween season and capitalize on the growing consumer interest in the winter holidays. By offering a unique shopping experience and a wide range of holiday-themed products, Spirit Halloween is positioning itself to capture a share of the lucrative holiday shopping market. This expansion into the Christmas season could help the chain further establish itself as a go-to destination for seasonal shopping needs.

Overall, the decision to convert some Spirit Halloween stores into Spirit Christmas stores is a smart business move that allows the retailer to extend its reach and appeal to a broader customer base. By tapping into the growing consumer interest in the winter holidays, Spirit Halloween has the opportunity to boost sales and generate additional revenue during the busy holiday season. With the opening of these Christmas stores, the chain is well-positioned to capitalize on the festive spirit of the holidays and create a unique shopping experience for customers.
