Rebecca Grimes has been appointed as the new chief revenue officer at SheerID, a Portland, Oregon-based identity verification company. Grimes brings a wealth of experience to this role, with previous positions at Searchspring, Ruby, Cheetah Digital, PowerReviews, and Vibes. SheerID specializes in helping consumer brands offer special deals to specific groups such as students, teachers, and the military by collecting and verifying their information. Some of the companies that currently use SheerID’s products include Amazon, Google, Home Depot, Spotify, T-Mobile, and Walmart.

Stephanie Copeland Weber was recently named as the CEO of SheerID, taking over from co-founder Jake Weatherly who now serves as a board director and strategic advisor. The company, founded in 2011, has raised $93 million in funding from investors such as Voyager Capital, Fortson VC, Brighton Park Capital, CVC Growth Partners, and Centana Growth Partners. With these leadership changes and the continued growth of the company, SheerID is set to further establish itself as a key player in the identity verification space.

In addition to the changes at SheerID, there have been other significant personnel changes in the Pacific Northwest tech industry. Sana Biotechnology’s CFO and executive vice president, Nathan Hardy, is stepping down for personal reasons effective October 4th. Hardy joined the Seattle-based biotech company in 2018 after working with Juno Therapeutics and Amgen. Following his departure, Robin Andrulevich, the former chief people officer at Sana, has started her own consulting firm called Nine Lives Consulting, which offers HR and operational consulting services for the tech and biotech sectors.

These developments highlight the dynamic nature of the tech industry in the Pacific Northwest, with companies like SheerID and Sana Bioechnology experiencing significant growth and undergoing leadership changes. With experienced professionals like Rebecca Grimes, Stephanie Copeland Weber, and Robin Andrulevich at the helm, these companies are well-positioned to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the industry. As the industry continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these companies continue to innovate and drive growth in the region.
