Police in Irondequoit, New York have arrested an illegal alien, 34-year-old Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano, who they believe may be responsible for the murder of a family of four in upstate New York last month. Pimentel-Soriano, originally from the Dominican Republic, is also wanted in his home country for another murder in 2019. On August 31, Fraime Ubaldo, Marangely Moreno-Santiago, Evangeline Ubaldo-Moreno, and Sebastian Ubaldo-Moreno were found murdered in their Irondequoit home, prompting shock and horror in the community and law enforcement. Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters described the scene as “horrific” and stated it was unlike anything he had seen in his 32 years of experience.

Following an extensive investigation, Julio Cesar Pimentel-Soriano was arrested on September 7. It was revealed that he had entered Puerto Rico illegally and obtained fraudulent New York identification, allowing him to travel freely to the United States mainland. Irondequoit Town Supervisor Andrae Evans expressed condolences to the family, friends, and neighbors of the victims, promising full support for the police department to bring the perpetrators to justice. The family’s bodies were discovered in the basement of their home while firefighters were addressing a series of fires that had been set in the residence. Further examination revealed that the cause of death was unrelated to the fires, adding a layer of mystery to the tragic events.

A makeshift vigil was set up outside the Moreno family’s home on Knapp Avenue in Irondequoit, where stuffed animals and photos of the victims were displayed in remembrance. The community rallied together to support each other in the wake of this tragedy, seeking solace and justice for the slain family. Despite limited information being released by the police at this time, the investigation into the murders is ongoing, with law enforcement authorities dedicated to finding justice for the victims. The Irondequoit Police Department has not yet responded to requests for comment from the media, indicating a focus on the active investigation and legal proceedings surrounding the case. The shocking nature of the crime and the arrest of Pimentel-Soriano, coupled with the family’s ties to the Dominican Republic, have heightened attention on the case and issues of immigration and crime.
