Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown is considering legal action against Donald Trump after the GOP presidential nominee shared a bizarre story involving the two of them experiencing a near-helicopter crash. Brown denied being in a helicopter with Trump and refuted claims that he had said negative things about Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he dated in the 1990s. He expressed that if Trump continues to spread lies, he may take legal action to make him stop.

Brown pointed out that Trump had mentioned potentially suing The New York Times over their coverage of the story. Despite the former San Francisco mayor’s denial, Trump insisted that they were together in the helicopter during an emergency landing. Brown’s attorney, Joseph Cotchett, stated that Brown is not known for seeking legal recourse but is being pushed to do so by Trump. The Trump campaign did not provide immediate comment on the matter.

Nate Holden, a former Los Angeles City Council member, suggested that Trump may have mistaken him for Willie Brown in the helicopter story. Holden emphasized the importance of holding Trump accountable if he is spreading false information. At 95 years old, Holden expressed that he and Brown are both still alive and well, challenging Trump’s assumptions about their absence. Brown acknowledged the potential damage to his reputation if he were to be linked to Trump, especially considering the former president’s lengthy legal history.

The former San Francisco mayor expressed surprise at the unexpected nature of Trump’s claims, particularly involving a helicopter. He emphasized the serious implications of being associated with someone with a criminal record, noting that it would reflect poorly on his reputation. Brown reiterated his stance that he may pursue legal action against Trump if the lies continue, in order to ensure that the truth is upheld. With the lack of cooperation from the Trump campaign in addressing the situation, Brown may proceed with legal recourse to protect his integrity.
