Reisberg described Pixie as quite talkative and explained that she was a stray who was likely abandoned due to a cancerous condition that has since been healed.
The first finalists for Pet of the Week are Ashke and Spotty, two feline companions who brighten their owner, Sarah Smith’s life. Ashke, a nearly 5-year-old tabby cat, has a special talent for recognizing the signs of her owner’s non-epileptic seizures and alerting her in her own way. Spotty, a 2-year-old cat, brings joy to Smith through his playful antics and interactions with Ashke. Next up is Fozzy, an 11-year-old Cockapoo who holds a special place in his owner, Jennifer Henry’s heart. Fozzy suffers from epilepsy but has learned to manage his condition by alerting his owners when a seizure is about to happen.
The final featured pet is Tubby, a dog with an amazing 22 toes who was born deaf. Tubby’s owner, Natalie Sloan, describes him as the perfect dog for Mardi Gras celebrations, parades, and gatherings due to his friendly nature. Tubby enjoys life to the fullest and loves spending time with people, animals, and his Siamese cat friend.
