Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Karrin Taylor Robson recently endorsed Donald Trump and her former primary rival, Kari Lake, emphasizing that it comes down to policies. Robson highlighted that it is a binary choice between the conservative and Republican vision for America and the Democrat vision for America, suggesting that voters should focus on policies rather than personalities. She expressed her disagreement with Kamala Harris’ vision for America, which she described as involving colossal government, growth of the regulatory state, increased taxes, price controls, open borders, and chaos in the streets. Robson stated that she wants a safe and secure America.

On the other hand, the Harris campaign in Arizona is countering messaging on border security and the economy, which continue to be key issues on the campaign trail. A spokesperson for the Arizona Democratic coordinated campaign criticized Trump for focusing on himself and claimed that Harris is committed to making life better for Americans by ensuring safety in communities and helping people get ahead. Despite facing backlash for her endorsement of Trump and Lake, Robson defended her decision, stating that people in politics need to have thick skin and make decisions based on their philosophy and worldview of right and wrong.

Robson endorsed Trump and Lake after Lake won the primary over Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb in July. The endorsement was welcomed by the Senate campaign and criticized by Democrats and pundits. Robson acknowledged the intense primary battle between herself and Lake in 2022, where Lake ultimately won the Republican nomination but lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs. She expressed confidence in Lake’s chances in the upcoming election against Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego, who she mentioned has been remaking himself politically.

In a recent interview, Robson mentioned being open to her next steps, with rumors suggesting she may pursue a bid for governor again in 2026. She emphasized the importance of maintaining Republican control in the Arizona state legislature, warning Republicans that losing the majority could lead to significant changes in the state’s legislation. Robson praised the work of former Republican Governor Doug Ducey and the conservative legislature in creating a favorable economic environment in Arizona, including low taxes and regulations, but warned that this could change if legislative majorities are not maintained.

Despite political differences following the outcome of the 2020 election, Ducey also endorsed Trump and Lake. Robson’s political group, Arizona PAC, is focused on preserving Republican control in the state legislature, where the party holds a slim majority in each chamber. She expressed concern that Arizona could undergo significant changes if Democrats were to gain control, pointing to the legislative agenda of Democrats in previous cycles as evidence. Robson stressed the importance of keeping legislative majorities to ensure that Arizona can continue to prosper economically and maintain its current favorable business environment.
