Devin Lammers, an experienced leader in the agriculture technology industry, has been appointed as the new CEO of TerraClear, a startup specializing in rock-mapping and picking technology. Lammers previously held executive roles at P4P Energy, ATDynamics, and EY-Parthenon, as well as serving as president at supply chain startup Gradable and interim CEO at Farmer’s Business Network.

TerraClear was founded in 2017 by Brent Frei with the aim of simplifying the process of removing large rocks from farmers’ fields. The startup, headquartered in Issaquah, Wash., and Grangeville, Idaho, has been developing AI and machine learning technology to assist farmers in this task. With over 100 farming customers across the Midwest, the company is now ready for a significant push into the market.

Frei expressed his confidence in Lammers as the new CEO, stating that he is the ideal person to lead TerraClear at this stage of growth. Lammers, who grew up on a family farm in South Dakota, was attracted to the company’s technology and mission. He highlighted the perennial challenge that rock-clearing presents for farmers and the innovative solution that TerraClear offers.

TerraClear recently closed a $15 million Series A funding round led by Madrona and other investors. The startup currently employs 38 people and has seen some changes in its leadership team, with Trevor Thompson leaving to join Scale AI in San Francisco. Additionally, several key personnel changes have taken place in other companies across the Pacific Northwest, including new hires and promotions at Amperity, CoreWeave, Fullstory, Modern Hydrogen, Zendesk, and Tagboard.

Chris Polishuk, Sachin Jain, Claire Fang, Amir Moftakhar, Lila Tretikov, and Stephanie Smith are among the individuals who have taken on new roles in various companies in the region. These changes reflect the dynamic nature of the technology and startup ecosystem in the Pacific Northwest, where talented leaders are constantly moving between organizations to make an impact in their respective fields. The region continues to be a hub for innovation and growth in the tech industry.
