Mama June Shannon has been showcasing her reality show journey, including her weight loss struggles, for over a decade. From “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” to “Mama June: Family Crisis,” she has shared her highs and lows with her fans. Shannon initially underwent bariatric surgery in 2015, which helped her lose a significant amount of weight. After hitting a plateau, she worked with weight loss expert Kenya Crooks to rework her diet and maintain her weight loss. However, following the stress of caring for her daughter Anna Cardwell, Shannon revealed that she had gained back 120-130 pounds of the weight she lost post-surgery.

After considering revisional bariatric surgery, Shannon opted to focus on curbing her eating habits and cutting back on eating out instead. When those efforts were not successful, she turned to weight loss injections, specifically semaglutide, to reduce her appetite. Along with medication, Shannon increased her gym visits and incorporated vibration plate exercises into her routine. She also revamped her diet to include more protein-rich foods and shared her progress with her followers on social media. As a result of her efforts, Shannon reported losing 30 pounds in June and continued to see progress through July.

Shannon has set a goal weight of 170-180 pounds for herself and hopes to reach it by December. While she does not want to return to her previous weight of 130 pounds, she aims to find a healthy balance and maintain a stable weight. With the support of her family and her commitment to a healthier lifestyle, Shannon is determined to reach her goals. Through sharing her journey with her fans, she continues to inspire others to prioritize their health and well-being. As she works towards her goal weight, Shannon remains focused on making sustainable changes that will benefit her long-term health and overall well-being.
