In June 2024, a number of products have been recalled by the FDA and FSIS across the United States. Some of the products impacted include hedgehog food produced by Vitakraft Sun Seed Inc., Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery Ice Cream Cakes, and New Seasons Market’s Strawberry Rhubarb Bakewell Tart. The recalls were initiated due to various reasons such as the presence of undeclared almonds, Salmonella contamination, and Listeria monocytogenes concerns. Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc. recalled whole cucumbers due to fears of Salmonella contamination, while UBC Food Distributors withdrew ground black pepper under the Baraka brand name for the same reason. Additionally, Dairy Manufacturers Inc. recalled Crecelac Infant 0-12 due to the presence of Cronbacter spp bacteria. HomeoCare Laboratories Inc. also recalled Homeopathic StellaLife Oral Care Products for microbial contamination concerns. Green Life Farms recalled Baby Arugula containers over Salmonella fears, as did Classic Delight LLC with its individually wrapped sandwiches due to Listeria concerns.
Integrity Products recalled capsules marketed for male sexual enhancement due to contamination with sildenafil and Tadalafil, while Suntegrity Skincare recalled Sunscreen Foundation lots with a higher than acceptable mold count. Other recalls include Penn Herb Company Ltd’s Nature’s Wonderland Thyroid Formula over Salmonella fears, Villa Nueva Interservices LLC’s Arepas LA Mejor for undeclared milk, and Aahu Barah USA Inc.’s Apricot Roll for unlisted Sulfites. Heinen’s Inc. recalled Tuscan Salad Bowls for undeclared pecans, while Hudson Harvest withdrew Tomato Basil Sauce over concerns of under-processing.
Snapchill LLC recalled all canned coffee products due to potential growth of the deadly toxin, botulinum toxin, in low acid canned foods. TDBBS LLC withdrew Green Tripe dog treats for the potential presence of foreign metal objects, and South American Meat Inc. recalled frozen beef products for not being inspected properly. Other recalls include Brett Antony Foods’ Thai-Style Curry Chicken for misbranding and undeclared allergens, Bistro Grande Southwestern Style with Chicken for the same reasons, and Bonneval Foods, LLC’s BBQ Pork Skins for undeclared wheat and soy. Farmstead Butcher Block LLC recalled dry cured pork and beef bacon items for exceeding the regulatory limit of sodium nitrite.
