More than 3,000 family members of 9/11 victims are demanding that both former President Trump and Vice President Harris oppose any Middle East peace deal with Saudi Arabia unless the kingdom acknowledges and is held accountable for its involvement in the attack. This demand comes after years of waiting for truth, justice, and accountability in the wake of the nation’s deadliest terror attack. The families point to evidence of Saudi involvement in the attack, including a Saudi government agent who was seen casing the U.S. Capitol in a video published by CBS in 2024.

Both Trump and President Biden have been pushing for a security deal that would normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, as well as allow for civil nuclear energy cooperation and defense guarantees to counter Iran. However, the families of the 9/11 victims are urging both candidates to pledge that they will not endorse any Middle East peace deal involving Saudi Arabia unless it fully addresses the kingdom’s role in the 9/11 attacks. They have sent letters to both Harris and Trump and have invited them to meet at Ground Zero on the 9/11 anniversary.

The families of the victims are calling for accountability from the Saudi Arabian government, noting that the majority of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. They are seeking acknowledgment of the Saudi government’s role in supporting the hijackers and exporting radical forms of Islam that helped facilitate the attacks. While they acknowledge that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had nothing to do with 9/11, they believe that the kingdom must admit its past faults in order to move forward and engage with the West.

A group called 9/11 Justice, formed by families of victims in Pennsylvania, New York, and Virginia, has been actively pursuing legal action against the Saudi government and pushing for the declassification of all remaining documents related to 9/11. Despite Biden signing an executive order for the review and declassification of these documents in 2021, the families are frustrated with the lack of progress and the apparent concealment of key evidence, such as the video of the Saudi government agent casing the U.S. Capitol.

The families are questioning whether President Biden, Vice President Harris, and President Trump have seen this crucial video and why it was buried without being made available to the 9/11 commission or the CIA. They believe that the failure to address these issues and provide transparency on the part of the government officials is indicative of a cover-up and conspiracy. The families are determined to continue pushing for accountability and justice, refusing to let the Saudi government off the hook for its role in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

The families of 9/11 victims are committed to ensuring that the Saudi government is held accountable for its involvement in the attacks and are demanding that both Trump and Harris take a stand against any Middle East peace deal that does not address these crucial issues. They are pushing for transparency and justice, refusing to accept silence or inaction from government officials. The continued efforts of advocacy groups like 9/11 Justice are essential in shedding light on the truth of what transpired on that fateful day and holding those responsible accountable for their actions.
